Pleioblastus viridi-Striata description: This outstanding spreading grass is actually a compact bamboo. It has outstanding variegated foliage that provides impact throughout the year. It also has an excellent compact and spreading habit making it suitable for mass or drift planting. Ideal in a mixed border alongside lower growing shrubs and herbaceous plants.

Pleioblastus viridi-Striata cultivation notes: Be prepared for vigorous growth and potentially invasive roots, but also take full advantage of this plants outstanding golden green foliage and compact rather un bamboo like form. Plant in a sheltered spot in sun or part shade and ensure the soil is well drained yet also fertile. A winter mulch from time to time will help improve this. Looks good in a pot.
