Cotoneaster cultivation notes: Cotoneaster will tolerate a range of soil types - from the poor dry soils to moist fertile loams. For best results plant in full sun, however this shrub will happily grow under partial shade. Prune to shape in spring - removing older wood if necessary.

Plant Strengths: Sun loving drought tolerant plant; Attracts wildlife to feed or nest; All round tough plant suitable for problem areas; Provides valuable winter interest; Architectural plant – ideal as a ‘stand out’ plant; Fruit / berry producing; Attractive form or foliage for all year interest; Tolerates cold exposed locations; Tolerates heavy clay soils.

Plant Weaknesses: Does not tolerate very dry or very wet soils.
