Fagus heterophylla cultivation notes: This large native tree is both hardy and tolerant! Flourishing on any well drained soil (avoid heavy clays mind) Fagus makes a great hedge if trimmed twice yearly. Plant in full sun in autumn, but be warned Beech gets big!

Plant Strengths: All round tough plant suitable for problem areas; Ideal for fast growing screening; Architectural plant – ideal as a ‘stand out’ plant; Fruit / berry producing; Tolerates full sun and sandy, drought-prone soils; Tolerates cold exposed locations.
