Phormium - Cultivation Notes

Phormiums should be planted in full sun in a moist but well drained soil, avoiding exposed locations. Phormiums are nutrient demanding plants so ensure you plant into good quality topsoil and also condition the planting pit with compost. This variety is more compact, being suited to planting in containers, however it should establish and grow quickly if well fed and kept watered. Phormiums do not like being exposed to strong drying or cold winds, being ideally suited to more sheltered sunny locations.
