Cultivation notes: Spruce will tolerate any soil other than the very chalky soil or overly moist / wet. They require a spot in full but prefer the company of other trees being well suited to woodland / mixed planting. Most of these evergreen conifers will grow quickly so allow plenty of space and plant away from the house.

Plant Strengths: All round tough plant suitable for problem areas.
Plant Weaknesses: Will not tolerate exposed, cold or hot and sunny locations; Does not produce attractive flowers; Does not tolerate very dry or very wet soils.
