Taxodium ascendens cultivation notes: The swamp Cyprus can survive with its roots underwater, preferring a lime free wet soil - preferably a heavy water clay. Ideal for pond side planting this tree will get very large so is only suitable for larger gardens.

Plant Strengths: Attractive autumn colour; Architectural plant – ideal as a ‘stand out’ plant; Attractive form or foliage for all year interest; Tolerates heavy clay soils.
Plant Weaknesses: Will not tolerate exposed, cold or hot and sunny locations; Does not produce showy attractive flowers.
