Acer palmatum cultivation notes: Plant in sheltered location avoiding exposure to intense sun or winds will scorch leaves. Plant in any rich moisture retentive yet free draining soil - avoiding very chalky soils. Maples are hardy and require minimal aftercare post establishment.

Plant Strengths: Attractive autumn colour; Suitable for container growing; Architectural plant – ideal as a ‘stand out’ plant; Attractive form or foliage for all year interest; Tolerates heavy clay soils.
Plant Weaknesses: Will not tolerate exposed, cold or hot and sunny locations; Does not produce showy attractive flowers; Does not tolerate very dry or very wet soils.
