Cotoneaster cultivation notes: Cotoneaster will tolerate a range of soil types - from the poor dry soils to moist fertile loams. For best results plant in full sun, however this shrub will happily grow under partial shade. Prune to shape in spring - removing older wood if necessary.

Plant Strengths: Attracts wildlife to feed or nest; All round tough plant suitable for problem areas; Provides valuable winter interest.
Plant Weaknesses: Will not tolerate exposed, cold or hot and sunny locations; Does not produce attractive flowers; Does not tolerate very dry or very wet soils.
