Echium vulgare cultivation notes: This tender biennial will flourish in sheltered sunny yet sheltered gardens in the south of England. Requiring a gritty well drained yet fertile soil be prepared to stake 2 - 3 metres of flower spike! Prop by seed to replace annually.

Plant Strengths: Evergreen foliage for all year round colour and screening; Architectural plant – ideal as a ‘stand out’ plant; Tolerates full sun and sandy, drought-prone soils.

Plant Weaknesses: Poisonous if eaten/irritating sap.
