Cultivation notes: Spruce will tolerate any soil other than the very chalky soil or overly moist / wet. They require a spot in full but prefer the company of other trees being well suited to woodland / mixed planting. Most of these evergreen conifers will grow quickly so allow plenty of space and plant away from the house.

Plant Strengths: All round tough plant suitable for problem areas; Evergreen foliage for all year round colour and screening; Suitable for container growing; Architectural plant – ideal as a ‘stand out’ plant; Tolerates heavy clay soils.
Plant Weaknesses: Does not produce attractive flowers.
