Pleioblastus auricomus cultivation notes: Be prepared for Pleioblastus to produce vigorous growth and rampant roots, but also take full advantage of this plants outstanding golden green foliage and compact low growing form. Plant in a sheltered spot in full sun or part shade and ensure the soil is well drained yet also fertile. A winter mulch every 2 -3 years will help improve this. Well suited to planting in a largish pot.
