Populus x canicans cultivation notes: This distinctive variegated poplar prefers a moist soil in full sun but will tolerate poorer dryer soils. Fast growing and vigorous the weakness of this tree is a propensity to canker so is often best pruned back hard every year and grown for its attractive re-growth.
