Solidago cultivation notes: Prefers full to partial sun on free draining soil but tough enough to flourish on poorer heavy soils. That said soil improvement via mulching will help, as will summer staking for taller varieties.

Plant Strengths: Attracts wildlife to feed or nest; All round tough plant suitable for problem areas; Tolerates full sun and sandy, drought-prone soils; Tolerates cold exposed locations; Tolerates heavy clay soils.
Plant Weaknesses: Invasive/spreading root growth.
