Summer flowering nectar rich shrubs to attract bees and other insects

Below is a cross section of shrubs that will provide a nectar source for bees and other nectar feeding insects throughout the summer months. Shrubs have been chosen to provide a nectar source over several months with some being early and some being late flowering.

Many of these shrubs require a hot sunny spot to produce masses of nectar rich blossom, this is because many are classed as herbs or Mediterranean sub shrubs. Many also produce blue blossom which in turn produce more nectar rich blossom.
