This large genus of reliable and tough herbaceous perennials are largely grown in the garden for their attractive foliage and form. Alchemilla mollis is the most widely planted, being appreciated it's ability to look good and stay tidy throughout the spring / summer season. Alchemilla mollis has a good dome like form with lime green geranium like foliage and acid green spring blossom. Alchemilla's will happily seed themselves into full sun or part shade areas around the garden were they will compliment a wide range of other plants with a minimum of fuss.
