A small genus of small to medium spreading trees that originate in China and North America. These attractive trees require a sheltered spot and are not the most hardy. However Catalpa appeal both for their attractive late summer blossom and large rounded leaves as well as their attractive spreading form. They flourish in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny spot.
