Coreopsis is a large genus of annual and short lived perennial flowering plants. Coreopsis is often grown as a bedding or container plant for all summer impact as it produces masses of repeat blossom but some can be grown as within the herbaceous border. Flowers are yellow, pink or deep red and daisy like, being born at the end of the long stalks. All prefer full sun and a well drained but fertile soil. Dead head to encourage repeat flowering and cut back hard in late September to encourage perennials to over winter.
