This rather exotic looking medium sized tree is grown for its impressive heart shaped leaves, which borne on a multitude of spreading branches. In mid to late summer spikes of purple pink blossom is produces on small spikes.
Paulownia tomentosa - Cultivation Notes
Pawlonia is only hardy in the UK in a sheltered spot in full sun. It will tolerate most soil types just as long as they are well drained as this plant will not tolerate wet soils.
This plant is fast growing but requires full sun in order to produce impressive summer blossom.
