Taxus baccata - Cultivation Notes

This much loved evergreen has two big disadvantages, it is slow growing and highly toxic. Yew tolerates most soil types othet than wet soils such as heavy clay, being well suited to chalky soils. It tolerates full sun or shade conditions and is very hardy. Yew can be trimmed to shape and can be cut back hard to encourage new growth.
