Cistus Plants

13 plants found in genus "Cistus"

This large genus Mediterranean sun loving shrubs and sub shrubs really do best in a hot dry spot - being well suited to a hot dry spot with poor sandy soils. Attractive dish like colourful flowers are produced in succession throughout the summer months - colours range from whites through to cerise pinks. Many Cistus also have distinctive and attractive foliage that can be attractive in its own right, however Cistus can become leggy with age and do not live a great many years, especially if planted in a cold location with moist or very fertile soil.
