Shrubs with impressive ornamental fruit for winter colour

The majority of this list of shrubs will produce fruit as an additional feature of interest within the garden. Many of these plants - most notably cotoneaster, Pyracantha and Rosa - will also produce attractive spring and summer blossom, and then go on to provide a further autumnal display of fruit and berries.

Much of this colourful fruit will hang on the bow over the grim winter months, giving a much needed splash of colour as well as a winter snack for many of our native birds.

Always dig plenty of rotted compost into soil when planting and water in establishing plants throughout their first growing season to aid good establishment.
