Amelanchier is a genus of attractive multi stemmed small shrubby to medium sized trees. Those grown in the garden are appreciated for their attractive spreading clumped form, attractive foliage, autumn colour and spring blossom. Amelanchier is a woodland genus of small trees being well suited to naturalistic planting. They produce masses star-shaped flowers are usually white with a pink tinge. Leaves turn yellow-orange in the autumn and are accompanied by fruit that ripens in summer.
